Help on Japan Rail pass
I bought the Japan Rail pass
Every time I needed to go somewhere, I would go to the JR office and tell them where I want to go.
They would look up the map, and chart my way make reservations for all trains, bullet or local reserved trains, and then give me a printout and a map. The printout gives all the timings, and how long the journey is and approx times of departure and arrivals. most of the time the timings are on schedule.
The reserved trains are like the inside of a plane. The reserved reservation ticket (at no additional cost) shows all details, including time and which track/platform to board the train, time of departure/ arrival.
That was amazing. Besides the staff at JRail and information desks, were so kind and helpful, despite the language barrier. Anyone I asked would never leave me without the answer and at times would even walk me very close to the platform.
